The following are traditional Tibetan products vetted and sourced by Prairie Sky in collaboration with Tibetan-American emigrants with roots in traditional Tibetan nomadic culture. This is the good stuff: high quality products, ethically imported directly from artisans, and benefiting the Tibetan cause. A percentage of proceeds go to support Deer Park Tibetan Buddhists Monastery, to provide aid to Tibetan refugees, or to provide regional earthquake relief.

Himalayan Yak Cheese (ཆེཨེསེ་)

This yak cheese is made from the milk of free-range, female Yak (or Dri), common to the Himalaya alps (AKA the Roof of the world) living at altitudes between 10,000 to 17,000 ft.

This is very similar to a Gruyère. It is sweet but slightly salty. It is assertive, earthy, and complex. with small cracks that impart a slightly grainy texture.

Tibetan Tea (ཏེཨ་)

This tea is excellent. Exquisite alone, Po Cha is also used to make traditional ButterTea, as a regular part of Tibetan life.

Before work, a Tibetan will typically enjoy several bowlfuls of this beverage, and it’s always served to welcome guests.Warm and welcoming treat.
